Science, Innovation and Technology Transfer: research strategies and tools
On October 25, 2013 our Laboratory hosted a round table with Shiri Breznitz (University of Toronto), Ismael Rafols (Polytechnic University of Valencia) and Ivan Sterligov (Russian Ministry of Science and Education)
Dr. Breznitz, Dr. Rafols and Ivan Sterligov, our guest visitors, joined the discussion of current issues in science and innovation studies, outlining research frontiers and the new role of university and university research in technology transfer and local economic development, as well as strategies and methods for studying science and innovation. Shiri Breznitz is an economic geographer and a policy analyst at the Munk School of Global Affairs at the University of Toronto, Canada, who specializes in innovation, technology and economic development. Ismael Rafols is a biophysicist, social scientist and research analyst at the INGENIO institute of the Spanish Council for Scientific Research and the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Spain. His research focuses on mapping interdisciplinarity of fields and emerging technologies using scientometrics, network analysis and qualitative approaches.
